Power & Grace Performance
“As a primarily remote team, making in-session adjustments is really difficult. Output has been the missing piece.”
Enhancing Objectivity in Remote Coaching
“We're not there to watch our athletes… Output lets us regulate intensity and track readiness — that was a missing piece in our process.”
Power & Grace Performance is a remote Olympic weightlifting club working with athletes across Canada and the U.S. By integrating Output into their system, Jessie and her coaching team can now monitor training quality, even from afar. Athletes use their units independently, and data is fed into the Output Hub, where coaches can track trends, segment athletes by location or coach, and assess how training is being absorbed.

Using Velocity to Guide Training Decisions
“We’re prescribing velocity zones for squat sets and for pulls… and using repeated counter-movement jumps as part of our readiness protocol.”
Each athlete performs three counter-movement jumps daily — after warm-up and before their first barbell set — with maximum intent. This allows coaches to assess readiness trends across the week or training cycle. Velocity zones are now being prescribed for squats and pulls, helping Jessie add more precision to her athletes’ training loads. The team is currently in a data collection phase, identifying individual trends before layering in automated decision-making (e.g., modifying intensity based on jump scores).
Building Compliance Through Simplicity
“It’s difficult to get compliance with complicated systems… this checked all of our boxes.”
Before Output, the team experimented with various readiness tracking tools, but struggled with athlete buy-in and consistency. Output's simplicity allowed them to standardize their process without adding complexity. Now, every athlete follows the same CMJ protocol, and the streamlined workflow ensures accurate, usable data — all without overwhelming the athlete or coach.

Driving Motivation for Solo Lifters
“Especially for athletes who train alone… it gives them a fun target in their training.”
With many Power & Grace athletes training remotely and often alone, Output provides an extra layer of motivation. Seeing jump height or bar speed in real time introduces gamification and intent into sessions. It helps athletes stay engaged, and provides measurable targets that go beyond just lifting numbers.
Operational Simplicity for Remote Staff
“All of our coaches have Hub access… we just utilize the groups by coach and location.”
Programming is delivered via Google Sheets, with Output goals noted directly in each session. The Hub allows coaches to view all athlete data remotely, segmented by training group or region. This keeps operations organized across a growing staff and athlete base, without disrupting the programming system they already rely on.

Looking Ahead: Mobility & Olympic Lifts
“We’ve started talking about using it for mobility… and we’re beginning to look at the jerk for peak velocity.”
While current use is focused on squats, pulls, and readiness, Power & Grace is already expanding their application. One coach is using Output to monitor shoulder mobility progress, while Jessie is exploring its use with Olympic lifts — particularly the jerk — to gain insight into dip and drive mechanics via peak velocity. The team expects to increase usage in the coming year, and an upcoming athlete camp will offer opportunities to capture content and deepen integration into their coaching workflow.
